Account sync vs iCloud sync
What changes on a device when you sign in, and why you cannot go back to iCloud there.
Signing in replaces iCloud sync on that device.
- Your notes merge into your account. Nothing is deleted.
- Signing out later keeps your notes on the device but does not turn iCloud sync back on.
- Over 200 notes on a free plan? That device keeps using iCloud until you upgrade.
