The organizing happens later, on your terms, using the AI tools in the Focus plan. That means you can ask your notes things like “what did I write about the launch plan?“ or “pull out everything related to marketing“ and get an instant answer from everything you've ever written. The organizer lives in the AI layer, not in a filing system you have to maintain by hand.

No. Download BrainDump and you can start writing immediately, no account, no credit card, no paywall on first open. Writing notes, freewriting mode, folders, iCloud sync and search are all part of the free Base plan and stay free. Focus is an optional upgrade you can take later from inside the app if you want the unlimited AI tools, and you can keep using the free plan indefinitely instead.

Is there an Android or Windows version of Brain Dump?

Not yet. BrainDump is currently built natively for Apple platforms only: iPhone, iPad, Mac and Vision Pro. There is no Android or Windows version, and no web app. If you're on Android or Windows, you can join the waitlist on the homepage and we'll email you if and when that changes, rather than have you download something you can't run.

What happens to my notes if I cancel Focus?

Nothing is deleted. Your notes are stored in your own iCloud, not on our servers, so they stay exactly where they are whether you're on the free plan or a paid one. If you cancel Focus you simply return to the Base plan limits: your existing notes, folders and tags remain readable and editable, and the AI tools go back to their free monthly allowance. You can also export everything to Markdown or Word before cancelling if you'd rather keep a copy outside the app.
